Medical 3D Scanning and Smart Order Platform
Paris Orthotics, a leading provider of custom orthotic solutions, embarked on a transformative journey to digitize their orthotic intake process. Partnering with SaaSberry, they aimed to develop a web-based intake progressive web app (PWA) and a scanner iOS app to streamline and enhance the efficiency of their operations.
The primary goal of the Paris Orthotics Digitization project was to create a seamless and efficient orthotic intake process. This involved developing two main applications: the Paris Orthotics Scanner application and the Paris Orthotics Intake application.
Project Overview
The design phase involved a collaborative effort from SaaSberry’s lead designer, UX/UI experts, front-end engineers, and the CTO. The process included a three-stage iteration to evolve from low-resolution mocks to high-resolution prototypes and eventually to code for engineering. The goal was to produce an intuitive order intake workflow that addresses common issues in electronic health record (EHR) applications.
- Integration with a 3D volumetric scanner hardware: The initial integration posed challenges in terms of understanding the potential obstacles and limitations. However, the methodical prototyping process allowed the team to identify and address these issues effectively.
- Ensuring High Availability: The backend infrastructure was designed to be completely cloud-based, operating at a 99.95% SLA on the Microsoft Azure cloud. This ensured high availability and reliability of the applications.
- Prevent Order Mistakes: Clinicians often submit orders with errors, leading to technicians spending time contacting them to clarify and resolve these issues. This solution significantly reduce these mistakes through smart order validation and intuitive UX/UI.
The Paris Orthotics Digitization project successfully delivered a robust and efficient orthotic intake process. The integration of the scanner and intake applications streamlined the workflow, reduced manual errors, and improved overall productivity. The project set a new standard for digitization in the orthotics industry, showcasing the potential of innovative technology solutions.
Customers are now able to place orders online, and our analytics show that the e-commerce platform encourages people to order more than what they came for.
Through online ordering, Cannoli King now has a payment solution in place and does not need to rely on customers being in front of the cash register to sell their baked goods.
Scope of Work
Paris Orthotics Scanner Application
- Prototype Integration: Integration with 3D scanning SDK to build the initial version of the foot scanner.
- Production Build: Iterative development of the scanner native app.
Paris Orthotics Intake Application
- Workflow Integration: Development of an intake workflow to submit orthotic orders by practitioners.
- Scanner Integration: Integration with the scanner native app to push scans to the intake application.
- Knowledge Base: Implementation of order tracking and a technical information repository.
- API: Creation of an API to support all applications.
- Admin Application: Creation of an admin application for the production facility to accept, review, and process order submissions.
- Middleware Applications: Development of background middleware applications to sync and pull data.
